DDoS Protected Dedicated Servers – Stop Destructive Attacks

Dedicated Servers with DDoS Protection – The Cisco® Anomaly Guard Module

DDoS protected dedicated serversProviding DDoS hosting solutions with the Cisco® Anomaly Guard Module is an integrated services module for Cisco routers that delivers a powerful and extensive solution for defending dedicated servers against massive distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

Recommended for non-mission critical websites and businesses or who have no history of DDoS attacks in the past. All servers come with basic protection from low-level DDoS attacks for your server.

  • Today’s DDoS attacks are more destructive and focused than ever.

These attacks can easily elude and overwhelm the most common server defenses. Composed of requests that appear legitimate, massive numbers of “zombie” sources, and spoofed identities make it virtually impossible to identify and block these malicious flows. Thus DDoS attacks paralyze dedicated servers and prevent them from loading web pages and conducting business. As a result, lost customers and missed transactions along with a damaged online reputation will occur.

  • Read our tech blog for resources and articles regarding security and malicious attacks.

DDoS protected dedicated servers via the Cisco Anomaly Guard Module, defends against all types of DDoS attacks. This then enables dedicated servers to identify and block malicious traffic without compromising their mission-critical and revenue-bearing operations.

Furthermore, other dedicated servers encountering a DDoS attack should not affect other servers on the same rack. This would not be fair to our clients that have nothing to do with an attack. With the network-level DDoS protection, you should in almost every incident not be experiencing another server’s attack!

“The most common threats to dedicated servers are malware, SQL injections, and DDoS attacks

CISCO DDoS Guard – Network Level

Tuned to the Data Center’s overall traffic flow and patterns providing general protection against a variety of attacks.

Network DDoS protection allows regular traffic to reach your website, but at the same time stopping illegitimate traffic right at the edge, just prior it reaches your server. Network level DDoS protection is limited, however, and based on the attack’s disturbance to our network. If another server is facing a large DDoS attack and affecting the network as a whole, we will take measure to stop it.

HTTP Get Flood attacks

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) voice over IP (VoIP) attacks

TCP- (syns, syn-acks, acks, fins, fragments)

User Datagram Protocol (UDP) attacks (random port floods, fragments)

Protection from DDoS attacks on other servers on a rack.

Need More Advanced DDoS Protection?

If you have suffered from current DDoS attacks in the past, Server Level DDoS Guard is strongly recommended. Server Level – DDoS protected dedicated servers is a more stringent and customized DDoS protected hosting service offered by the Hosting and Designs L.L.C. Data Center.

Dedicated server Level DDoS protection is fine-tuned to your business or website’s needs and traffic patterns. Our engineers will develop a custom traffic profile allowing the CISCO DDoS Guard® to provide security and protection to run your dedicated server’s daily tasks.

Recommended for mission critical websites and businesses who are at risk of DDoS attacks. This always applies to sites that cannot take the risk of not having an online presence to conduct e-commerce and/or provide their online services. If you have previously experienced DDoS attacks in the past you know what this can mean for your business.

  • The cost of downtime will outway the cost of DDoS protection several times over.

Even being threatened with these attacks should have you thinking about what your options are and how you can at least be prepared for such events. Even though our DDoS prevention services can be set up within 24 hours, it can still mean disruption to your online services.

  • We can also help protect against various types of Layer 5 attacks & 7 Floods

CISCO DDoS Guard – Server Level

Tuned to the dedicated server or VPS traffic flow and patterns providing specific  protection against a variety of attacks.

Automatically prevents TCP SYN, UDP and ICMP attacks at the edge so they do not reach your dedicated server or VPS. If you face constant or occasional direct attacks, this is the plan for you. You can cancel at any time, however, once an attack starts we need to re-activate your DDoS prevention account which is usually done within 24 hours.

This plan also automatically detects changes in traffic patterns and also protects against layer 7 DDoS attacks, such as POST floods and Domain Name System (DNS) attacks so they never reach your site.

UDP Flood  (and random port floods, fragments)

TCP Flood

SYN Flood

ICM attacks

Reflection Flood

SSL

Chat software

General websites and PHP sites; HTTP and TCP.

Spoofed and non-spoofed attacks

Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) attacks (unreachable, echo, fragments)

Inactive and total connections attacks

Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) attacks

Can operate in continuous learning and protection mode (Switches between learning and protection modes automatically)

In conclusion, DDoS prevention is an important expense to thwart unwanted attacks to any website. We try to keep those costs to our clients to a minimum without sacrificing DDoS prevention efficiency. There is no point in offering DDoS prevention that cannot handle the load. Because this will also affect other servers on the network besides just the server facing the direct attack.

  • If you believe you are currently facing an attack, either you are a current or possible future client, we can set up your account ASAP.

However, the best preventative measures are to have one setup and in place before the attack happens at all.

  • Please also make sure to view our other security services that can help prevent any disasters from happening to your server which includes SiteLock, backups plans, and server hardening.

Our DDoS hardware learns from previous and current attacks on our network thus protecting from DDoS more quickly and more efficiently. This also enables us to protect your site from the latest and always evolving latest threats. While attacks get larger, our network is able to mitigate the attacks, even those exceeding hundreds of Gbps. We also do not use legacy hardware or outdated software that is near useless in modern DDoS attack methods.

Contact us at any time using the form below and we will be more than happy to assist you. We also offer advice on how to proceed on current or possible future DDOS threats and attacks.
